One classic Dutch meatball, eight toppings from around the world. Pick your favourite ball, classic, spicy, chicken or vegan, and pair it with a topping from Amsterdam, Tokyo, Seoul or the Mediterranean.
Our meatballs are for everyone. We make them fresh every day in our open kitchen on the Kinkerstraat, and we prefer suppliers from the neighbourhood: Kesbeke from Amsterdam East delivers our onions and kimchi, Frites Uit Zuyd handles the premium fries, and the cheese comes from Old Amsterdam. No ready-made sauces. What is on the menu, we make ourselves.
Prefer not to eat meat? Our meatball also comes in a vegan version, and you can hardly tell the difference. Also try the Mozzarella Focaccia with buffalo mozzarella and tomato tapenade, well worth it. Got dietary needs? We always make room for them, just let us know.
In 2023 we started Meat The Balls on the Kinkerstraat. Two friends with a dream, one open kitchen, and the belief that a meatball sandwich deserves its own recipes and honest ingredients. No chain, no formula. Just us, every day.

What is Meat The Balls?
Meat The Balls is the sandwich shop in Amsterdam West that focuses on fancy meatball sandwiches. We take the classic Dutch meatball and pair it with eight toppings from around the world, from the Amsterdammertje and BBQ Glory to Tokyo Crunch, Seoul Sensation and Ball of Zeus. The whole menu is halal, and if you prefer plant-based food we have a vegan ball that tastes almost the same.
Where is Meat The Balls?
You can find Meat The Balls at Kinkerstraat 142, next to the Foodhallen in Amsterdam West. A short bike ride from Vondelpark, Westerpark and the city centre.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Thursday from 11:00 to 17:00, Friday and Saturday until 19:00, and Sunday from 12:00 to 19:00. Seven days a week, we are ready for you.
How do I get there (parking, public transport, bike)?
By bike there is plenty of parking around the Kinkerstraat. By car the easiest spot is Parkeergarage De Hallen (Bellamyplein 51), a few minutes on foot. By public transport take tram 7, 13 or 17 to the Bilderdijkstraat stop, then you are there in two minutes.
Can I sit down or is it takeaway only?
You can both sit inside and take away. No booking needed, just walk in whenever it suits you.
Do I need to book?
Booking is not needed. Everyone is welcome any time during our opening hours, whether you take a sandwich to go or sit down for a while.
Who is Meat The Balls for?
For everyone. The whole menu is halal, we have a vegan version of the meatball for plant-based eaters, and a vegetarian Mozzarella Focaccia on the seasonal menu. Other dietary needs? Tell our team, we will think with you.
Can I order online or get delivery?
Yes. Order through our webshop at meattheballs.sitedish.shop for pick-up or delivery. Or come by Kinkerstraat, everything is made fresh on the spot.
